Every time Snow's Brandon Nelson touched the ball in the first half something big happened. The unheralded wide receiver set up Phillip Haywood's first quarter touchdown with a 36 yard catch then scored on a 27 yard catch and run on a throw from quarterback Fred Salanoa.

The Badgers could do little wrong in the first half while building a 20-6 lead. They dominated a strong Coffeyville Red Raven squad on the scoreboard and in the stats. A first quarter touchdown burst of 59 yards by tailback, J. Crabtree was all that the Ravens could manage while Salanoa, with time to choose his receivers, picked apart the Red Raven secondary. Badger backs, Johnny Tejada and Esekia Afatasi found holes, too. Snow racked up 296 of its 365 yards before halftime.

In the third quarter things changed. Coffeyville scored 14 unanswered points as its rushing attack found its legs. Crabtree broke another long touchdown run, this one for 66 yards, and quarterback Alex Graves added a 9 yard scoring run late in the period. Meanwhile, the defense, led by Terrell Jurineack and Steve Brittingham, turned up the heat on Salanoa. They put him under constant pressure and sacked him three times while completely stuffing the Badgers' running game.

Overtime loomed as both teams lost scoring chances in the fourth quarter. A Badger drive was ruined when Jurineack blocked a short Snow field goal attempt then a penalty nullified an apparent Raven touchdown run. Finally Salanoa eluded the Coffeyville rush long enough to get the Badgers in scoring position and with 1:13 remaining he floated a 16 yard pass to Afatasi in the end zone to give Snow a 26-20 lead.

Coffeyville's last rally was snuffed when Josh Roberts picked off a Graves pass. Salanoa knelt in his own end zone as time ran out, taking a safety and making the final score 26-22.
